Congratulations to the Autosavant Dream Garage Contest Winner

By Chris Haak

2006_ferrari_p45bypininfarina3405727Congratulations from the staff of Autosavant to Kristen M. from California (also known as “Contestant A”) for winning the Autosavant Dream Garage contest.  Her winning entry, which was a list of the ten cars that she’d love to have in a dream garage, and which spans three-quarters of a century with some of the most rare and beautiful cars ever built (or, in the case of the Cadillac Converj, something that hasn’t even really been built, except as a concept car).

Her entry for the Dream Garage contest is reproduced below:

  • 1936 Bugatti 57SC Atlantic Coupe
  • 1938 Delahaye 165 Figoni et Falaschi Cabriolet
  • 1948 Tucker Sedan
  • 1957 Jaguar XKSS
  • 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO
  • 1967-9 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale
  • 1992-8 McLaren F1
  • 2006 Pininfarina Ferrari P4/5
  • 2008 Superformance Brock Coupe
  • 2012 Cadillac Converj

Some of the comments about her list included:

  • “Anyone who knows anything about a Dream Garage would agree! The cars in this garage would never leave you wanting!”
  • “Contestant A deserves an A+, and that’s my vote.”
  • “A!!!! Diversity, Rarity, History!”
  • A has it all together”
  • “I vote for “A”! Superb choices!!”
  • “A. The Bugatti seals it.”
  • “I would have to say that it’s A. A great overview of beautiful cars throughout the years.”
  • “Well, if I’m going to dream … I dream of class, style and sophistication, so my obvious choice would be the Garage of Contestant “A”. This entrant knows not just the cars of Pebble, but Lake Como as well. Will you be posting their phone numbers after the contest? LOL! :)” No. –Ed

In all, Kristen’s dream garage received just over 62% of the votes cast in the voting thread’s comments, and for that, she receives a copy of the Top Gear Season 10 3-disc set.  The prize was provided by BBC America, so thank you to them for teaming up with us to run this contest.

When asked for her thoughts on winning the contest, Kristen had this to say:  “I’m actually a huge fan of Top Gear, although I didn’t even really care too much about cars until my boyfriend shared his passion with me a couple of years ago. Now I love to go to all of the concours, races and shows I can with him. To be honest, I put the list together by asking him what were his favorite cars and then adding a few of my own. He had no idea what I was doing at the time but he’ll love the DVDs I’m sure. Love the site. Keep up the great work!”

Congratulations to each of the four finalists and thank you to all who submitted entries and who voted.

  1. Congrats to Kristen

  2. Superb list. My only change would be to replace the Tucker with an Auburn Boattail or Cord 810.

  3. I like this list too, but would replace 1967-9 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale with a 1973 BMW 3.0 Coupe with an uprated engine.
