Lamborghini Shows Gallardo LP560-4 to U.S. at New York Auto Show

By Mike Mello

The day I get to drive a Lamborghini may really be one of the most exciting days of my life, if only because of how much these cars feed my imagination. I’m happy to indulge in the fantasy that is promised by the shape of today’s Gallardos and Murcielagos and only look forward to the possibility of piloting such a machine on the open road.

At the New York International Auto Show, Lamborghini introduced the Gallardo LP560-4 to the United States. Originally introduced just weeks ago in Geneva, the white LP560-4 with gloss black wheels was situated between two black Murcielagos: a roadster and a coupe. As told to the media, this new Gallardo has an improved 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds rather than the previous time of 4 seconds. Top speed is over 203 MPH. The engine is a 5.2L V10, producing 560 horsepower and the “4” represents the all-wheel-drive system. Carbon dioxide emissions have been reduced by 8 percent and weight has been reduced by 44 pounds. With over 7,100 Gallardos sold, the Gallardo coupe is the most successful Lamborghini ever produced. See many more images HERE.

  1. I thought you guys got to drive all the good stuff. You mean they don’t send over Lamborghinis to your office for testing?

If they do, can I come over and get a drive too?

  2. We’ll have to get back to you on that…!
